I am a serious lifter and really needed a stable bench with safety spotters so that I can workout alone more safely. I researched a lot of benches and watched a variety of online videos of people using and describing them, and this one looks like the most affordable option. I initially looked for some that had an adjustable, detattched bench so that I could do incline and decline as well (the BF-48 only does flat), but after examining about 5 of those in person, I found them all to be too flimsy for >300 lb lifting. I put the BF-48 together in about 30 minutes and the thing is a TANK. It does not shake or sway AT ALL with myself (220 lb) and 330 lb of weight on a 7 foot olympic bar. The safety catches are fantastic, able to easily handle the heavy weight, and they are very adjustable to meet different body sizes and not get in the way of lifting. This is an outstanding solution for anyone wanting a rock-solid bench that is a lot safer for lifting alone than other systems without buying a cage.
