CFF Slam Ball - Medicine Ball - 50 Lbs - Non-bounce Slammer Review

I picked up a 30lb non bounce from Power Systems in addition to this 50lb ball from CFF. The 50lb ball is similar to a men's basketball while the 30lber is closer to a women's in size. The 50 is very well built and on feel alone, the CFF type slam ball just seems like it will likely outlast the power systems ball. Although I am hoping both go for years. The power systems ball feels like a kickball and the rubber is similar although a bit heavier. It grips better when sweating. It has a basketball style air plug and is welded around the equator seem. The CFF ball is a thicker rubber and a bit slippery. It also has an air plug but it looks to be recessed in a bit better. I would guess it is sealed around the equator but the weld is not as noticeable.

Being the CFF is heavier, slightly larger in diameter, and a bit slippery it kind of is a 1+1+1=4 type deal compared to the 30lber. I am 6'3" weigh about 210 and consider myself in fairly decent cardio and strength shape. The 50 is very taxing to slam especially if worked into a crossfit sytle workout. Outside of the slam movement, there really isn't anything else I can do with a ball this heavy. That being said I love it for that movement and having to pick it up as well as slam it back down really works the whole body and it is fun to do. I do still use the 30 and find it a better fit for chop slams, twists, and most throws. Working with the 50 today and then transitioning to the 30, I felt like I got more out of the 30 as the gripping, etc... felt easier. Anyway you cut it though, these heavy non-bounce med balls are an excellent addition to a workout.

I ordered directly from CFF and they had it at my door in less then a week. Had previously ordered a 1.5" battling rope from them (trhu Amazon)and received the same quick shipping and good product.
