I'm pretty new to yoga and wanted a replacement for my pink, thin Houston Astros giveaway mat. It is very cushy, which is what I wanted. Its thickness does make balance postures a little more difficult, but I expected that. My main complaint is the grip I get from the mat. Out of the package it is very slippery - really not even usable. After two trips through the washing machine and about six weeks of use it is a lot better, but not as good as my aforementioned giveaway mat. For instance if I hold downward dog for a prolonged period of time my hands and feet will slowly creep away from each other. Not to the point where I think I'm going to fall on my face, but enough to be distracting. I'll continue to use this mat for everyday use, but when the time comes for a new one I'll look elsewhere.
