Product Description

The Pro Diver from Invicta adds a touch of sportiness to the precision and sophistication of Swiss timekeeping. This lovely ladies' watch is made with the finest stainless steel, including a 38-millimeter case, crown, bracelet, and blue unidirectional bezel. The round blue dial is simple yet elegant with distinctly shaped hand indicators, hour markers and indexes, and a date display at the three o'clock. Powered by Swiss quartz movement, the Pro Diver is water resistant to 660 feet.

Pro Diver Collection

Plunge into any horizon using the steadfast guidance of the Invicta Pro Diver. Stylishly classic, internal workings are forged with variations of either Swiss chronograph or 21-jewel automatic movements and willingly navigate in depths up to 300 meters. Built with confident prowess, the fortitude with which these timepieces function makes the Pro Diver the quintessential in performance.

Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

Invicta Women's 4863 Pro Diver Collection Watch Review

The dial and bezel are not bright blue; they're more of a navy with a purple tinge --- darker than the blue on Barilla pasta boxes. I think that's probably the only difference between this and models 4861-4866.

During the daytime, the hands are easy to read against the dark dial, especially if the luminous markers have been exposed to light. The glow lasts a few hours; but definitely not the whole night. I think a white dial would look better, but make the watch harder to read at a glance.

The bezel turns easily once you peel off the protective plastic film covering the bezel and the (stationary) crystal. I cannot turn the bezel while wearing thick gloves.

The curves at the ends of the case are non-anatomical --- they suggest a very small radius of curvature for the wrist. I removed five of the six possible links and the fit is still not exactly right. (I am 5' 9" and 145 lbs.)

After using my watch about 10 days, I find that it has gained about 5 seconds, which I think is a bit much for a quartz watch.

The good thing about this line is that the watches are not huge or terribly heavy as the current men's versions are. Also, I have not had any reactions with the stainless steel; I did have a skin reaction to the "base metal" used in some of Timex's cases.

Update (March 2011): I like this watch, and have added a star to my initial rating. The luminous markers actually do last through the night --- as long as your eyes have adjusted to the darkness. I need to look closely to read the watch while in a movie theater.

It is easy to read the watch while snorkeling during the day, as long as you view it normally (straight-on, not at too low an angle).

The accuracy is consistent with the previous measurement, having gained about a minute over the past four months. I reset the time less often than once every two months (which is when I have to adjust the date). I am not bothered that the seconds hand does not line up perfectly with the second markers in several areas of the dial.

I have picked up a couple of scratches on the crystal.

Update (November 2011): The watch stopped, probably needing a new battery. That's a battery life of 2.5 years.
