i like these tri shorts!

i am new to sprint triathlon this year, but my first pair of (pearl izumi) tri shorts weren't holding up, despite minimal use, and weren't comfortable on the bike. i bought the CW-X brand based on the positive reviews. they cost more money than i wanted to spend, but once i tried them on, i was glad i bought them. i raced four sprint tri's this year, the last two with these CW-X womens Ventilator Stabilyx Tri shorts. i don't have a lot to compare them to, but i definitely would purchase these again -- streamlined for the swim, and excellent compression for keeping legs fresh on the bike and run. they are a tight, but comfortable and long fit, to just above my knee. they rise comfortably high enough in the waist to support my middle-age guts and gluts. (lol, it doesn't hurt they help me look like a serious competitor!) the tri-specific chamois makes for a comfy tush in the saddle after the swim -- no chafing on the bike or the run, and they are effective at moisture wicking. i've worn them for practices and race-days in both fresh and pool water, including under my wetsuit, and so far they are holding up okay.

i don't know how the elastic will fare over the winter sitting around in storage, but i won't hesitate to spring for a new pair come next race season, if necessary. pricey, but worth it, with fabulous construction and performance.
