I'm not sure if we got a defective one or what, but we ended up sending it back for a full refund. The electronic counter wouldn't go beyond 160 rotations and no matter the tension it was always very "jerky" and wouldn't rotate smoothly. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

6' Olympic Bench Press Black Bar w/ Chrome Sleeve Ob-72ul Review

No complaints. The bar is 6 feet long, but is 50 3/4 inches between the collars (advertised as 52 inches), so it will fit any olympic sized bench, or power cage just fine. The only "draw back" then would be that you can't put on so many plates, and then the collar. But it still fits at least 4 of the 45 plates on each side, plus a spring type collar with no problem. So that is 360 lbs of plates, plus the bar is 31 pounds. You could probably slip on a 5th plate, but then you may be cutting it close for room, plus the bar has a 500 lb limit. Its perfect for most guys who work out at home, but have limited space.

KettleGuard Inserts Review

If you're ordering these, then you already own the wristbands or you're going to order them. The wristbands come with 8 inserts in them, so these enable you to double them up in the wristbands for more protection. Here's the deal...

The plastic is VERY VERY thin! Think 99 cent water bottle plastic, but not even that stiff. When you get the wristbands, take one insert out and find something around your house that is somewhat flexible, waterproof, and offers protection, that you can cut. If you really need to, you can go to Lowe's and find some firm plastic. You might end up paying a little more, but at least you'll be buying something that will actually offer protection. An extra set of these should really come with the wrist bands. The price that they sell these for is insane; they probably cost .05 cents to make.

If kettlebells don't hurt your wrist too much, then the small added protection that these offer you will probably be fine. If kettlebells hurt you though, don't even bother. You might even consider the No Fear Fitness Forearm Guard Pair. I wish I had ordered these instead of the wristbands and inserts.

If you can think of a good insert material, leave a comment for others. I was thinking of trying a popsicle stick, but perhaps that's just me wanting to have an excuse to buy some popsicles.

Valor Athletics Inc. BF - 48 Olympic Bench Pro with Spotter Review

I am a serious lifter and really needed a stable bench with safety spotters so that I can workout alone more safely. I researched a lot of benches and watched a variety of online videos of people using and describing them, and this one looks like the most affordable option. I initially looked for some that had an adjustable, detattched bench so that I could do incline and decline as well (the BF-48 only does flat), but after examining about 5 of those in person, I found them all to be too flimsy for >300 lb lifting. I put the BF-48 together in about 30 minutes and the thing is a TANK. It does not shake or sway AT ALL with myself (220 lb) and 330 lb of weight on a 7 foot olympic bar. The safety catches are fantastic, able to easily handle the heavy weight, and they are very adjustable to meet different body sizes and not get in the way of lifting. This is an outstanding solution for anyone wanting a rock-solid bench that is a lot safer for lifting alone than other systems without buying a cage.
